The engineering sensibility of the brand inspired a blocky and sculptural approach to the packaging, one that showcased the sharp edges and technical perfection of the brand. Shadow play and how the product would showcase on Instagram and in unboxing videos also drove key structural considerations.
Artem Straps is committed to providing a luxury experience for its customers. The packaging reflects this commitment with its attention to detail and high-quality materials. The design features foil stamping, a foam insert, GF Smith papers in grey and royal blue, and a frosted vellum box.
The packaging dimensions are 80mm W x 20mm D x 270cm L, providing ample space to protect and display the watch straps.
During the four-month design process, the team in the Netherlands conducted extensive research, including competitor analysis in branding and packaging experience. They found that many watch strap competitors focused on cost efficiency, neglecting the luxury experience. In contrast, Artem Straps aimed to create an atmosphere of mystery and reverence, taking inspiration from top-end watch brands such as Blanc Pain and Rolex.
The biggest challenge in the project was ensuring quality assurance and color matching in paper selection and box quality. However, the overall process was smooth, allowing the team to deliver a packaging design that perfectly complements the luxury and refinement of Artem Straps.
Artem Luxury Watch Straps packaging design was awarded Bronze in the A' Packaging Design Award in 2022. This prestigious award recognizes outstanding and creatively ingenious designs that authenticate experience and resourcefulness. The design exhibits strong technical and creative skills, contributing to quality of life improvements and making the world a better place.
